THE CHALLENGE

How do we bring our users into One View Banking so they can see and manage their finances and future goals across our products and services?

There are retail banking services, investment banking, wealth management, online trading and retirement planning.
Each customer have different needs, but most will use multiple features so the experience need to be consistent and seamless, where possible, to delight the users and encourage them to try other services.

Partnering with the Information Architects and Development teams

to dig deeper into limitations and opportunities to help guide design decisions.

THE APPROACH

I started of with a beer, a couple pens, some reference books, and some napkins. By sketching out several ideas while considering the complexities that surround the stock market and trading process.
I incorporated foundational design principles, dashboard presentation principles and mental models on how people think and make decisions, psychologically.

CUSTOMER INSIGHTS

A/B TESTING

Using various methods of A/B testing to gather feedback from users at all levels of trading experience. This involve many sessions and iteration in the design concepts.

COLLABORATIVE DESIGN

INCLUDE EVERYONE
Working with team members from all aspects of the product lifecycle to gain insights and generate ideas, as all members of the team can have different perspective and knowledge around Data Design, Architecture, API Implementation, Third-Party reliance or even what they have learned from the Support Teams and Support Tickets.

This makes sure everyone has a say and we can uncover potential room for improvements on a broad scale.

In addition, I created a "Feedback Wall" where anyone within the team can leave their feedback on design concepts whenever they feel. I would review these everyday and take note of every suggestion or concerns.

TABLET FIRST

The initial idea, based on feedback from our user was that they preferred to use desktops and tablets over mobile devices. So we went with a tablet first approach while making sure the whole application was also naturally accessible on desktops as well.
